UPSTATE SPRAY FOAM PRESENTS RACING AT THE FONDA SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY, MAY 25

Fonda, NY – THE “TRACK OF CHAMPIONS” IS BACK
There is no better way to start off the Memorial Day weekend than with the sound of racecars which will again be heard this Saturday, May 25 at the Fonda Speedway. Upstate Spray Foam will present a racing program in all regular divisions including the Amsterdam Truck Center Modifieds, the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate 602 Sportsman, the Leatherstocking Credit Union Pro Stocks, the Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. Limited Sportsman, and the Fonda Fair Four Cylinders.
The Swagger Factory Apparel Crate 602 Sportsman will also run their held over feature from April 27 which was rained out and the Fonda Speedway Kid’s Club will hold their very popular “Bike Night” event. Any race team, fan, or business can donate a bicycle which will be given away to many young race fans.
The Fonda Speedway track crew has been working overtime getting the track conditions back in shape and it was announced early this week that the track would be back in action this coming Saturday after three events were cancelled. This Saturday May 25 will be the final racing program in the month of May leading into a very busy schedule in the month of June.
The month of June at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds begins with the CRSA Sprint cars along with all regular divisions on June 1 Caputo Racing Night.
There have been a total of 29 CRSA Sprint events at Fonda between 2009 and 2023 with 14 different drivers winning those events. Leading the way with five victories at Fonda is Mike Kiser followed by local favorite Danny Varin with four wins; Josh Pieniazek, Cory Sparks, and Jordan Hutton all with three wins; Kyle Smith and Jeff Trombley both with two wins apiece while Dylan Swiernik, John Matrafailo, Tyler Rice, Jordan Thomas, Brett Jaycox, Josh Flint, and Tomy Moreau all have one victory apiece.
The first ever CRSA Sprint event was held at Fonda back on 5/2/2009 with Dylan Swiernik the winner of that event while the last CRSA Sprint event was held back on 9/15/23 which was won by Hutton.
On Saturday June, 8 M.W. Roosevelt & Son/Roosevelt’s Towing presents Dave Lape Memorial Night with Twin 22-lap feature events for the Amsterdam Truck Center Modifieds. Roosevelt’s was a long time sponsor of the historic #22 of Dave Lape, a legend at the “Track of Champions” who accumulated a total of 99 feature wins at Fonda (3rd on the All-Time Win List) along with seven Track Championships in 1983, 1986, 1987, 1991, 1992, 2003, and 2004.
One week later on Saturday June 15 the Fonda Speedway will present the “Thunder on the Thruway Series” a six race series between the two BD Motorsports LLC tracks Fonda and Utica Rome in the Modified, Crate 602 Sportsman, and Pro Stock divisions. The first race of the 2024 series was held at Fonda back on May 4 with Michael Maresca, Chad Edwards, and Luke Horning the series event winners in their respective divisions. All other regular divisions will also be in action on June 15.
On Saturday June 22 Randall Implements will present Fan Appreciation Night with all regular divisions in action and to close out the month of June the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars will make their first ever appearance at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds track along with all other regular divisions on Saturday June 29.
If you are a race fan that gets to the track early, be sure to check out the Fonda Speedway Museum & Hall of Fame which is located on the Fonda Fairgrounds at the rear of the parking area going down towards turn four. The museum is open from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on race days and admission is free!
All races at Fonda Speedway – will be broadcast live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) as part of the $150 annual subscription.
Since 1953, the “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing. Under the management of BD Motorsports Media LLC, the speedway will operate weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events.
